While some massage facilities claim to offer a 60-minute massage, it's really more like 50 minutes. Not here. If you're scheduled for 60 minutes, you get 60 minutes of hands-on bodywork. (Providing you arrive on time!)
Massage may be a new experience for you. Whenever we try something new and we don't know what to expect, we naturally may feel apprehensive or nervous. If this is a concern to you, you will be glad to know that the massage therapists at Serendipity Massage & Wellness completely understand and will do everything possible to ensure that your experience is a positive and rewarding one.
Expect a peaceful and comfortable environment – this is our MO. On the off-chance that there are any distractions (room temperature, volume of music, etc.) or physical discomfort, please let your therapist know and we will resolve the issue promptly.

Upon arrival, you'll be asked about your reasons for getting a massage, as well as your current physical condition, medical history, stress level, areas of pain, and other pertinent topics.
Undressing & Draping
You'll be asked to undress yourself and lay on the massage table beneath the sheet & blanket (don't worry, we won't be in the room). Many people do not wear any clothing during the treatment, but this is up to the individual. You may choose to leave on underwear. You'll lie down on a comfortably padded massage table. The therapist will undrape only the part of the body to be massaged. We are careful to always respect the client's modesty.
Pro Tip
Avoid heavy meals 1-2 hours before your appointment and arrive 10 minutes early to complete paperwork and begin relaxing.
Most clients choose to undress completely for their massage, but you can leave your underwear on if you prefer. Our therapists are trained to drape you appropriately so only the area being worked on is exposed at any time.
We require 24 hours notice for cancellations. You can reschedule or cancel your appointment through our online portal or by calling us directly. Late cancellations may incur a fee.
While tips are not required, they are appreciated if you feel your therapist provided exceptional service. A standard tip is 15-20% of the service cost.

One of the fine things about getting a massage is that it lets you take a break from clocks and schedules. Relax, breathe deeply and regularly, let go.
No need to try to help the therapist in any way – when it's time for an arm to be lifted, let it be lifted for you. Your therapist is a trained professional and is there to take care of you. Let yourself be taken care of. You are in good hands.
Conscious breathing enhances relaxation and helps release tension. If you find yourself holding your breath, gently return to deep, rhythmic breathing.
Feel free to ask for pressure adjustments at any time
You're welcome to talk or remain silent throughout
Drink water before your session for optimal results

When the massage is over, there's no need to get up immediately and rush out the door. We're not tapping our feet, waiting for you to leave. We understand that massage is a deeply relaxing experience and that in order to enjoy the full effect, it's best to do things in a natural flow of time.
Lie still with your eyes closed, bask in whatever you're feeling for a few minutes longer. Though it's common to feel a bit slowed down in the initial period following the massage, it is just as common shortly thereafter that clients experience increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater productivity – often lasting for days after their session.
Massage helps your soft tissues release toxins. Please drink plenty of water afterward to help your body flush those out.
